Hanging Out In NYC…
Do You Have the Travel Bug?
My friends and I are always taking these little “tests” on Facebook. I found a new one thanks to Anthony Bourdain from the Travel Channel’s ‘No Reservations’.
Do you have the bug?
SWA Flight Attendant Rapping The Announcements
I saw this video on youtube.com yesterday and thought it was great. I actually posted it on my Facebook and thought I would share it with you here. If you like this, there are more including a Shanghai flight attendant. Now, that’s funny stuff. Probably because I do not understand the words.
Have a great day!
Waffle House, Really?
OK, so this was the day, or at least the morning before I started the Raw Food phase of my lifestyle. It’s funny how when we travel, we always wind up at either a Waffle House or a Chinese restaurant. I have eaten Chinese food in Paris, France and Rome, Italy! And, Waffle House on driving trips. The day I see a Waffle House in Europe is the day I stay home! Don’t do it PLEASE. McDonalds is already out of control. It is fun to sit at the counter and easy because I already know what I want to eat when I am there.
It’s like our very own little traditions. Of course when you eat at Waffle House, do you get the cheese eggs and raisin toast (me) or the pecan waffles (Joe) or just a plain ole’ traditional waffle like Michael?
Whatever you choose to eat there’s always room to learn. We used the tip to try and show Michael that four quarters equal a “paper” dollar. I think the poor waitress lost a quarter in the deal though because I found two in my son’s pocket that night and he had one that morning. All he knows is that if one quarter gets one piece of candy then two has to be better!
Swimming In Kentucky or Total Pouting Meltdown.
For the Child On the GO!
It’s hard to keep my 6 year old still for too long now that it’s warm outside. I wrapped 2% cheese, tomatos and romaine in a tortilla (we call it “Taco Bell”) and held it out for him to grab on his way past on his bike.
And For the Rest of the Grocery Needs
This is not my favorite Kroger however, we were that close so might as well save the gas and shop here. I was able to pick up some other vegetables I was not happy with at the farmer’s market. I was even able to get King Arthur’s whole wheat flour at Kroger. I am still looking for some young coconut milk!
I spent a fortune here. Under $80. Eating healthy is NOT cheap but has to beat visits to the doctor.
Trip to the "Kentucky" Library
We went to the library right across the bridge in Newport, Ky to return a couple of movies and look for some games.
It cost me $21.00 because the movies were late by three days. UGH!!
Inside Findlay Market
This is just one of the counters inside. There are meats, cheeses, breads and pastries and like the best herb/sugars/dehydrated goods I have ever seen!
Between the cheese, fruits and vegetables I spent around $28.00
